  • Almost two decades of experience in consulting, private accounting, and public accounting.

  • Began his career at Ernst & Young LLP (EY) in Assurance Services (Audit), Transaction Advisory Services (TAS), and Financial Accounting and Advisory Services (FAAS).

  • Experience building and leading entire finance and accounting teams at startups and publicly traded companies.

  • Served non-public and public clients in software (Saas), biotechnology, aircraft leasing, consumer products,  real estate, technology, IT consulting, online gaming, insurance, and asset management.

  • Helped clients with everything from implementing financial and business controls to initial public offerings (IPO).

  • Expert in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 internal controls, and operational processes.

Selected Experience

  • Analyzing and implementing complex technical accounting including leasing (ASC 842), revenue recognition (ASC 606), stock based compensation (ASC 718), fair value, derivatives, restructuring, debt, taxes (ASC 740), business combinations, VIE, capitalized software, and consolidations.

  • Preparation and submission of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, including securities registrations (S-1 and S-11), and quarterly and annual financial filings (10-Q and 10-K).

  • Identifying, selecting, drafting, and implementing accounting policies, process controls, and systems (e.g., payroll, general ledger, HRIS, accounts payable, expense reimbursement, treasury, etc.).

  • Multi-year full cash basis to US GAAP financial restatements.

  • Implementation and migration of accounting, accounts payable, and expense reimbursement systems.

  • Preparing companies for first-year audits and defending all accounting positions.

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly accounting close process, comparative financial statement analysis, reporting packages, account reconciliations, budgeting, and financial analysis.

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with all required disclosures and footnotes.

  • Performing due diligence for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, asset purchases, and other complex transactions.

  • Financial modeling, forecasting, valuations, and budgeting.

  • Experience with Oracle, Workday, SAP, Quickbooks, AccountingSeed, Netsuite, Salesforce, Expensify,, Gusto, ADP, Namely, Asana, Carta, Guideline, Lever, Notion, and other systems.

Education and Certifications

  • University of Notre Dame, Mendoza College of Business - MS in Accountancy 

  • University of California, Berkeley, Walter A. Haas School of Business - BS Business Administration

  • Harvard Business School, CORe program - Certificate

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of California with an active license

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level II candidate
